Moncada's Anniversary

Local residents walk near an image of revolutionary hero Ernesto 'Che' Guevara that reads ' To Victory, Always' near Biran, eastern Cuba, on Monday, June 26, 2006. The Cuban revolution was born on a July 26 morning when a group attacked the Moncada military barracks in the eastern city of Santiago. Though the armed assault failed, and many young militants died, Castro survived and went on to oust his nemesis, then-President Fulgencio Batista. Cuba's President Fidel Castro was born on Aug. 13, 1926. (AP Photo/ Javier Galeano)
